Sunrise - August 25 2014 - 7:00 AM

It was a very lazy Monday morning for me. It is one of those days where I wish I could have slept in. But some of us have to work. Below is a photo I took while waiting for the bus. Beautiful sunrise. One of God's beautiful creation.

Liebenzel Camping 2014

Among the 3 times that we went camping at Liebenzel, to me the last one is the best. We stayed the whole time and enjoyed every minute of it. My kids, wife, my sister and I enjoyed all the meals that was served and also the planned activities. There were movie nights where they showed the trilogy (Left Behind: The Movie, Left Behind II: Tribulation Force and Left Behind: World at War.). Although there were no competition and prizes in the outdoor sports activities, we all enjoyed badminton, volleyball, baseball and the team games that the youth organized. Following are some photos of the event.

Kelso Beach

Our family and some of our friends went to Kelso beach. It is located at 5234 Kelso Road Milton, ON L9T 2X7 it is about 30-45 minutes from where we live. Considering it was a Sunday when we went, the place was not so crowded like some beaches we went to before. The beach was clean and my 3 young boys really enjoyed swimming and playing in the sand. The beach is also supervised by lifeguards so we adults enjoyed a picnic in the large area near the trees.

Other activities that is available in the conservatory area follows:

• Riding a bike along the mountain bike trail
• Skiing or snowboarding down the slopes during winter
• Kayaking across Kelso Lake
• Bird watching

Cherry Tomatoes - Initial Harvest

After almost a month, I was able to harvest some cherry tomatoes from our yard. I did not even wait for it to become red because I am am afraid that squirrels, racoons and skunks that sometimes visit our backyard will have interest in it.

We bought 3 small tomato plants from Canadian Tire for less than CAD 10. If I am not able to get more tomatoes in the next few weeks, it would seem we did not get a good return on our investment.

007 - Carte Blanche

This is a new James Bond Novel. It has not been made a movie yet. I am not sure if it is good enough to be made into a movie. I will start reading this tonight.

Update: Just finished reading the book - August 8, 2014. Just like all the James Bond Novels, it was full of action and high-tech gadgets. I knew based on the review that there are twists in the book but I was not expecting the main protagonist to be the lady that 007 dated.

How to Grill a Steak - With Grill Lines

NOTE: Images was taken from Certified BBQ Experts - Everyday Grilling magazine.

We have a grill that we purchased almost 4 years ago. I am embarassed to say that I have used it for probably 10 times only. The reason why I have not used it a lot is that I am afraid that when I grill anything it will come out to raw, too hard or not to the liking/request of person eating it. Two weeks ago when I decided to grill a steak we bought from Metro, my youngest brought me this magazine with a picture of a steak with grill lines. He said "Dad, this is how the steak should look like when you are done cooking". So I did my best and fortunately, everyone liked the way it was cooked. The meat was tender and was marinated just right. I believe buying the steak from a supermarket and cooking it the same day without freezing it helps preserve the juiciness of the steak.

I have scanned the tips from the magazine so I have it handy and also to share with readers. The

A Novel: The Bourne Objective

I am a very big fan of Robert Ludlum's novels who's story revolves around Jason Bourne. I happen to see this book being sold at a nearby Toronto Public Library and so I bought it for a dollar last year. This is the next book that I will be reading starting tomorrow.

Update: Just finished reading the book - July 12, 2014. It was a good read. The story is about revenge, deception and plans to retrieve a laptop and ring that hold the secret on how to turn copper into gold.

5650 & 5700 Yonge Street Landscape

It has been 9 months since I moved to a new job located at 5700 Yonge. It only feels like just a month. Time really goes by so fast. The weather is very nice this time of year and some buildings have their landscapes/gardens done. The effect is an awesome scenery for motorist and pedestrians alike. Some landscape have water fountains, flowers of different colours as well as shrubs and trees. The following photo shows the landscape in between the buildings 5650 and 5700.

It's Superman - A Novel

The novel I am reading is entitled "I'ts Superman". It is a novel by Tom De Haven and based on Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. I got the book from a sale at a Toronto Public Library located near Elmbrook Park. I believe it cost me a dollar to get it. I can't remember how many times I have started reading the book and all the time forgetting about it. Worst part is that I always have to start from the beginning because I could not remember where I left off. This time I am dead serious in finishing reading the novel. I started reading it last Mat 15 and I am now on page 166 of 453. I am a slow reader and only read when I am commuting to and from work. I also stop reading when I feel drowsy. I really have not gotten accustomed to reading. I always fall asleep. I hope I finish the book this time...

Update: Finished reading the book -> 20 June 2014

Treats From The Philippines...

Thank you my dearest sister Sharyn for the treats that you brought from the Philippines. I missed these and I will finally be able to eat and taste them again.

Tarzan - The Lost Adventure

I have never been a book worm. I never liked reading. I liked watching movies better. I guess I have a hard time visualizing the scenes when I read A book. The first book that I read from cover to cover was "Tarzan - The Lost Adventure" an adventure novel penned by an American writer Edgar Rice Burroughs. I find it easy to read the book because I was able to see a lot of Tarzan movies prior to reading the book. Because of this, I was able to imagine all the scenes as I read the book.

NOTE: Copied from my other blog "Anything Under The Sun".
